Fez-se uma simulação de desempenho térmico em duas habitações na cidade de João Pessoa – PB, utilizando-se o programa ARQUITROP 3.0. A primeira casa foi avaliada mantendo-se as suas características originais. A Segunda foi acrescida de forro de gesso e teve todas as suas fachadas pintadas de branco. Constatou-se o baixo desempenho térmico na casa original, tendo sido a coberta a maior responsável pelos ganhos térmicos da edificação. Na casa modificada, com forro de gesso e pintura nas fachadas, constatou-se uma redução na temperatura interna, sem, no entanto, tornar a casa mais confortável. Por fim, foram feitas propostas para melhoria do programa ARQUITROP e do sistema construtivo.
ABSTRACT: A thermal performance simulation was done in two dwellings in the town of João Pessoa, capital of the state of Paraiba, utilising the ARQUITROP 39; the first dwelling was surveyed under its original conditions. The second one received the addition of a plaster ceiling while all façade walls were treated with a white paint coat. The low thermal performance of the original house became evident and the roof was found out to be the main source of thermal gains in that dwelling. The modified house, with the plaster ceiling and the white paint coat on its façades, proved a reduction in the indoor temperature, This, however, did not improve the comfort level in the house. Finally, proposals were made concerning the enhancement of the ARQUITROP program, as well as the building system.
